Since today is Memorial Day I thought that the best way for me to honor the troops would be to talk about the 2007 Topps Distinguished Service set. Cards #DS21-DS30 tell how Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Stan Musial and others served their country. The front of the cards picture them in uniform and the back gives the details of their military careers.
Ted Williams was in the military for 5 years. Can you imagine the numbers he might have put up had he played baseball those 5 years? He may have reached 700 home runs.
This is a small 9 card set which includes, George Bush Sr., Charles De Gaulle, Winston Churchill, Red Schoendienst, Warren Spahn, J.F.K. and Richard Bong.
If you have the set take it out and take a look at it today for your rememberance of the troops.
