March Madness and Card Collecting

March Madness is down to the final 4 and the general managers of the NBA are deciding who will be the number 1, 2 and 3 pick as well as the lower draft picks.

Every year the best players who come out for the draft affect the basketball card market. People start to buy on speculation sometimes paying way too much for someone who never has more than a 1 year career or underspending for a player who becomes great when no one thought they would.

Some live up to their hype like Lebron James and others may have poor starts in the early going like Greg Oden.

Greg Oden cards were going for hundreds of dollars after he was drafted and now they go for very little. Lebron James cards were very high and if he wins a few Champions will go even higher.

The key is that the amount of players who end up like a Lebron James, Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan are few and far between. Don't over spend on players like Sean May or Sam Bowie.

Have fun and get the players you like rather than spending high dollars on possible stars. If you don't your just gambling.
