Have Steroids Affected The Baseball Card Market?

A Barry Bonds 1986 Fleer Buyback Auto numbered to 73 sold for $500 this month.

A 2005 Upper Deck Ultimate Signature Roger Clemens Decades autograph number to 10 sold for 199.95 this month.

An Alex Rodriguez 1998 Donruss Signature Preview autograph numbered to 23 sold for a whopping $923.13 this month.

All 3 cards sold on Ebay.

To me this says that the steroid situation in baseball has had little or no affect on the baseball card market. Fans stay loyal and will come up with excuses for the plays they love and root for and they will pay high sums of money for their cards especially if the cards are high end.

I understand fans wanting to be loyal but at some point you have to draw the line. ARod has admitted steroid use and Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens will have their day in court.

If all are found to be guilty then fans need to reject them for cheating. Steroids are an illegal substance and therefore anyone using it is doing something that is illegal and cheating which is unfair.

If Pete Rose doesn't get into the Hall of Fame then neither should Bonds, Clemens or ARod.

Wake up sports cards fans!

Sports Cards and Steroids

Has the steroids admission of Alex Rodriguez affected your card buying?
Were you a fan of Bonds, ARod, Clemens or McGwire and stop buying their cards or did it have no affect?
The players are taking the brunt of the abuse but the owners and Bud Selig should be getting the majority of the blame. They could see by the size of Sosa and McGwire and the sudden increase of home runs that something was wrong but they did nothing because both Sosa and McGwire solved the Major League financial problems with their home run chase of Roger Maris.
Why doesn't the press question the owners and investigate them rather than giving all their attention to the players?
