2010 Topps Series 1 Review

I opened up 2 boxes of 2010 Topps Series 1 and I was pleasantly surprised.   The design and photography are both excellent.   Cards of Prince Fielder and Matt Kemp really stand out in the base set.

There are different sets to put together this year.   There is Peak Performance, Legendary Lineage, The Cards My Mom Threw Out, Tales of the Game, When They Were Young and History of the Game.  The design and photography are nicer than any Topps Series 1 or 2 product that has been put out before.  It is a higher quality of card than usual.

Now I know everyone wants to know what I pulled.  One box wasn't that great as I got a Mat Gamel Auto and a Rickie Weeks bat card.  The other box was a surprise as I got an Adam Dunn Silk Collection, Josh Johnson auto and a Pedro Sandoval Hat Logo numbered to 99.   I also pulled a Francisco Cervelli Yankees pie in the face short print which is card #422(this card number would normally be in series 2).  All the Yankee pie in the face cards are short printed.

You can also get the Hall of Famers in the base set which are short printed and the Cards My Mom Threw Out are short printed if you get the regular back(stats) as opposed to the Cards My Mom Threw Out back.

There is a good mix of old timers and hall of famers in the Tales of the Game and History cards.

There are also the usual gold and Turkey Red cards included.

I was very pleased with the boxes and would give it 5 out of 5 stars.

I purchased the boxes from Blowout Cards who have great prices and great service.
